| The
name of this pioneer educational institute epitomises the
idealistic striving of its founding fathers who were residents
of Vile Parle(E),Mumbai-400 057 towards erecting a memorial
of Lokmanya Tilak in the form if an educational institute.
After Lokmanya Tilak passing away in 1920,on 9 June 1921 the
school started with four students in the backyard of late
Shri Dadasaheb Paradhi.Late Shri Paradhi's handsome donation
and late Shri Tatyasaheb Paranjape's donation a plot of land
measuring 966 square meters made it possible to construct
the school building.Many a resident of Vile Parle with their
relentless, selfless efforts involving even sacrifice in terms
of money have contributed to the growth of this institute.Late
Shri M.V.Baburao Paranjape and Late Shri S.G.Babasaheb Pethe
took the institute to the pinnacle of success in the field
of education. Dedicated efforts of late Shri B.G.Ganu, late
Shri M.P.Patwardhan, late Shri Pethe, late Shri S.V.Sathaye,
late Shri S.H.Bakalkar and many other residents of Parle were
also instrumental in the expansion of the institute from kindergartern
to post-graduate and research centres.
Well-equipped
buildings, playgrounds, laboratories, computer labs and other
educational aids and facilities have enabled students to achieve
success in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular
activities.These students have attained high positions in
India and abroad. |
